Martha Mine Pit Rim Walk
The Martha Mine Pit Rim walk is a 4km walkway which loops around Martha Mine giving walkers impressive views into the open cast mine, located in Waihi town.
Waihi Town
There are various attractions in the Waihi township to see, a lot of which are remains from the old mining days such as the Cornish Pumphouse, Poppet Head, which were used for mining operations back in the day, to name a few. Located just as you enter Waihi town from Tauranga road, Gilmour Reserve is a well-established, picturesque spot for picnics, relaxation, walking, duck feeding and model boat sailing. Public toilets are available for comfort stops and a pre-schooler's playground, fully fenced, will keep under-fives and parents happy by the lakeside.

Waihi Beach
A 15-minute drive from Waihi, Waihi Beach is a top 10 NZ beach, there are cafes and stores within a few minutes from the beach to explore and plenty of activities to do around the place.
Karangahake Gorge
Located in between the Waihi and Paeroa, the Karangahake Gorge is the home of the scenic Karangahake Historic Walkways which give access to and allow visitors to see some remnants of mining and railway eras. Karangahake Gorge has been voted onto the list of '101 Must-Do's for Kiwis' and is also part of the Hauraki Rail Trail.
Owharoa Falls
The 6-meter-high Owharoa Falls located a few minutes' drive from the Karangahake Gorge make for a spectacular sight and is a must-see if you are visiting the Gorge.
